Steve Floyd Biography

Curious and adventurous would be the best way to describe Steve Floyd. As the oldest brother of 9, Steve always found a way to get in trouble as a child searching for his identity. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, life was anything but simple growing up in one of the worst neighbourhoods of Chicago.

At the age of 20, Steve went on to study Theology at North Central University in Minneapolis. Little did he know that his less-then-perfect life would give him the ability to understand and communicate easily with kids and teenagers with their everyday struggles. He went on to became one of the greatest and most respected motivational speakers of the city.

His desire to help others – paired with his constant craving to give – brought Steve to visit as many as 50 different countries worldwide, carrying on his energy and devotion for helping deprived children and poor families.

Through his travels and adventures, Steve realized how much of this part of the world was unknown. Through people's miseries and poverty, Steve started to take pictures in order to share with others his experiences and knowledge.

A new and strong passion developed and Steve took on the world through photography! Steve has done quite a few workshops and expeditions, working hand-in-hand with several of National Geographic’s greatest photographers. He is now striving to become one of their newest, rising “young guns” on the National Geographic photography team.

Always with great anticipation, Steve is always looking out to capture the most intimate moments of one's life. His dedication to organizations such as Peace Jam, Youththrive, NEED magazine and his heartfelt passion makes of him a truly compassionate photographer.
